SIZING FAQ’s

HOW DO I ACCURATELY MEASURE MY RING SIZE?
The most accurate way to determine your ring size is to have your finger size measured by a local jeweller. If you are unable to do this then making use of our standard ring sizes would be the next best option. Please note that we always recommend that an exact ring size is given to us to ensure the ring fits perfectly.
WHAT IS YOUR GUIDELINE FOR RING SIZES?

Standard rings are available in Small, Medium and Large sizes. We suggest ordering a size up to ensure you can wear these more fashionable rings as they are intended.

Small – Size 5/ 6 – 15.5mm/ 16.5mm
Medium – Size 7/ 8 – 17.5mm/ 18.2mm
Large – Size 9/ 10 – 18.8mm/ 19.8mm

Use the simple steps below to ascertain your ring size for custom orders.

1. Wrap a piece of string or a strip of paper around your finger. Make sure to go over the knuckle.
2. Note the point where the two ends meet.
3. Measure the string or paper with a ruler to get the circumference of your finger.
4. Divide that by 3.14 to get the diameter of your finger. (optional)
5. Look up your ring size using the table below.

WHAT IF I NEED MY RING RESIZED?
We unfortunately cannot take responsibility for incorrect sizes supplied to us when ordering rings but we are more than happy to resize your ring that we have manufactured to ensure that it fits perfectly. Please contact us directly for a quotation. Please note that the courier fees will be for your own cost.
If you have purchased a standard ring (not custom) from our store that is the incorrect size and it has been unused/unworn we will happily exchange the ring for the correct size at no extra charge. Please note that the courier fees will be for your own cost.
HOW DO YOUR STANDARD CHAIN LENGTHS WORK?
Each necklace with its available lengths are stated, mainly 40cm, 50cm, 55cm chain. Most of our necklaces also include an extender piece of 5cm should you wish to lengthen your piece.

We recommend measuring the length of an existing necklace to get an accurate idea of chain lengths. Alternatively order a 40 – 45cm length if you want a short layering piece, and 50cm or longer for your longer layering pieces. Where the necklace sits on every individual person will vary depending on the thickness of their neck and the length of their torso.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO GET MY PARCEL?

SOUTH AFRICA
If the purchased piece is in stock then you can expect to receive your parcel within 7 working days. Please note this excludes weekends and public holidays. If the item is out of stock then you can expect to receive your parcel 7 working days after the pre order date stated on the website.

Custom order timelines may vary according to the piece being handcrafted. Timelines will be discussed at the quoting stage.

INTERNATIONAL
If the purchased piece is in stock then you can expect to receive your parcel within 4 weeks. If the item is out of stock then you can expect to receive your parcel 4 weeks after the pre order date as stated on the website. Unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for any delays in delivery resulting from complications in the country’s customs clearance process.

WHERE IS MY PARCEL SHIPPED FROM?
All orders are shipped from Durban, South Africa.
WHERE DO YOU DELIVER TO?
We try our best to offer delivery to all areas locally and internationally but if you need a delivery to an area that does not usually receive deliveries please contact us and we will look into different couriers and the options available.

Please note that parcels cannot be delivered to P.O. Box addresses, a physical address is required where someone will be available to sign for receipt of the parcel.

IF MY PURCHASE IS A GIFT, CAN IT BE SHIPPED DIRECTLY?
We love giving gifts and special occasions! Please leave a note in the comments box at checkout with their full name, shipping address and a personal message (if you would like one sent on a note card with the parcel).
HOW WILL I KNOW IF MY PARCEL HAS BEEN SENT?

Once your parcel has been sent out to you a shipping confirmation will be emailed to you detailing your order and delivery information together with your tracking reference number. You can use the tracking reference number to track your order on the courier’s online tracking service. Any queries regarding your order can be sent to orders@musejewellery.co.za

HOW IS MY ORDER PACKAGED?
Our everyday range is packaged in a soft cotton drawstring bag, including care instructions.

Our everyday range of earrings are packaged on a white jewellery card and wrapped in white tissue paper. This too will include care instructions.

All custom made rings are packaged in hard cover leather box.

IS THERE AN OPTION FOR ME TO COLLECT MY ORDER?
No, unfortunately at this time all orders are for shipping only and no collections can be arranged.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

If you have had a change of heart and would like to cancel your order please contact us via our email orders@musejewellery.co.za immediately. Unfortunately orders that have already been sent out for delivery cannot be cancelled and custom orders that have had their deposits paid for cannot be cancelled.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON DEFECTIVE ITEMS?

If your piece of jewellery were to somehow arrive damaged, please contact us immediately and we will rectify it. Jewellery is delicate and should be handled carefully as per our Jewellery Care Instructions which are noted here.

GIFT CARDS, CARE AND MORE

HOW DO YOUR GIFT CARDS WORK?

Our gift cards purchased online are virtual gift cards, and are valid for a period of 1 year. An email will be sent to the email address provided at checkout once the payment has been processed. There is also an option to include a message to be sent along with the gift card.

WHAT IS MY JEWELLERY MADE OF?

MUSE everyday pieces are a combination of Solid Sterling 925 Silver and various plating colours such as 14ct Gold and Rose Gold.

In most cases Solid Gold and Rose Gold pieces are available to order and will be quoted as custom orders. Please contact us at orders@musejewellery.co.za and we will quote you accordingly.

Plating micron or thickness differs per piece to ensure longevity of use and reduce wear and tear. Our Silver is 925 Sterling Silver, which is an alloy made of 92.5% pure Silver and 7.5% Copper.

The silver is treated to make it less prone to tarnishing and to provide extra shine and durability.

HOW SHOULD I TAKE CARE OF MY JEWELLERY?

Before exercising, showering, swimming or applying any lotions and perfumes, remove your jewellery.

Clean your pieces by buffing gently with a soft dry microfibre cloth.

Store your jewellery in the soft jewellery pouch provided. Make sure you store your jewellery pieces separately, so that they don’t scratch or tangle.

Heat and humidity will cause gold pieces to tarnish more quickly, so we recommend you store your pieces in a cool and dry place.

Avoid using heavy chemical cleaners like brasso that can strip the gold finish.

Over time, gold can fade. From time to time dirt and grease can build up on your pieces.

This may vary depending on how you look after your jewellery. We offer a re-plating and cleaning service.
